LiftSplit does not offer any guarantee in the case of a cancellation for any reason. The cancellation of a booked seat on any Lift is subject to the following stipulations:
1. In case of cancellation owing to the Driver, the Rider is refunded the payment, excluding the service charge. This shall include situations where the Driver has not arrived at the arranged meeting point within 5 minutes of the agreed time
2. In case of cancellation owing to the Rider:
(i) Cancellations more than 2 hours before agreed departure times shall be fully refunded the full sum paid, including the service charge. The Driver will not receive any sum.
(ii) No Cancellations less than 2 hours before agreed departure times.
(iii) Cancellations after the agreed departure time or if the Rider has not arrived at the agreed departure point within 5 minutes of the agreed departure time, the Rider is refunded the payment, excluding the service charge.
LiftSplit aims to offer our platform and services for all members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Occasionally, unavoidable maintenance or technical issues may disrupt this schedule. In these cases we shall notify members in advance where possible and seek to resolve unexpected issues in as timely a manner as possible.
As Drivers set their own prices when posting a Lift advert based on the costs they bear as Drivers, we cannot provide prices directly as costs may vary dependant on many factors such as fuel price, location and length of journey.LiftSplit does not allow Drivers to draw profit from use of our services and attempts to ensure that prices are representative of the true cost per mile in PKR which is born by the Driver, factoring in fuel costs, insurance and other sundries relative to the journey undertaken.
The following polices are effective from 04/02/2022 and will continue until further notice.
This policy, along with our Terms of Service, sets out the basis under which we collect any data from you or that you provide to us. This notice, known hereafter as the Privacy Policy, serves to tell you about and explain our collection, storage, disclosure and use of your data as a service user. Please read the following carefully. Usage of our services and platform constitutes consent to the following polices:
We are LiftSplit, a carpool facilitating service. When you use our services or platform, we act as the data controller and are committed to respecting your privacy.
In the interests of providing our services, we may collect and process the following data from you:
Any information which you give us, including data which may be used to identify you as an individual (Personal Data) when you use our platform, fill in a form (such as the sign up form or when placing an advert), if you enter into a competition we run, make use of a promotion or complete a survey. We also store information you provide when you corresponds with us by phone, email or in writing or when you report an issue with our services.
This data may comprise of the following:
• Required information when you register for our services including your name, email address, date of birth and password.
• A photograph, should you add one to your profile
• Information included in your profile biography. A copy of your identity documents such as an ID card and driving license.
• Details about your car
• A recording of any phone calls you make with us. We give you the option to opt out should you object.
• A record of any correspondence between you and LiftSplit
• Any information we may require from you in relation to a reported issue with the platform.
• Your phone number
• Details of your use of our platform
• Details of financial transactions carried out through our platform.
• A record of any bookings you make on our platform
• Your replies to any surveys and any reviews on the platform.
• Location data when you have given consent to the collection and processing of this information
We also collect certain information automatically when you use our services in certain manners. This includes the following:
• Social Media Account Data, including your name, surname, profile picture and email address. We may also collect certain data when you interact with third party features such as “liking” a post.
• Device information when you visit our website or make use of our platform. This might include browser information, IP addresses, the path in which you navigate through our site and app, content you view, time spent viewing each piece of content, search terms used, advertising identifiers. We collect this information through various technologies including cookies and similar products.
• Aggregated information concerning activity on our platform such as the number of Lifts offered, response rates etc. This information might be published on your profile. How Long We Keep Your Data With the exception of the data mentioned in sections 2.3.2 and 2.3.3 all your personal data will be archived after the following periods:
• 5 years after your last use of our platform
• 30 days after your account is closed, should you choose to do so.
Information relating to transactions carried out through our platform is stored for the length of time required by the applicable tax and accounting laws.
Other forms of information may be stored for differing durations as set out below:
• Log data may be stored for up to 12 months
• Phone calls to our customer service department are stored for up to 1 month.• Analysis documentation relating to phone calls (duration, time etc) may be stored for up to 1 year.
• User generated content, such as reviews is anonymised after the terms mentioned in section 2.3 but may still be visible on our platform.
In the event that we terminate or suspend your account, your data will be held for between 2 and 10 years to ensure that you cannot create another account during your period of suspension.
We may archive and securely hold any personal data for a period of up to 5 years in order that we might comply with legal requirements and amicably resolve potential disputes.
The data that we collect is used in the following manners:
• To carry out the services which you request from us. This processing is necessary for the operation of our services.
• To allow you to personalise your profile on our platform. This is done with your express convent.
• To process payments on your behalf. This processing is necessary for the operation of our services
• To collect payment from you. This processing is necessary for the operation of our services.
• To allow you to participate in the interactive features available on our platform. This is necessary for the operation of our services.
• To send you service related information. This processing is necessary for the operation of our services.
• To provide you with relevant information about the services you choose to use and to serve you with relevant ads. This is based on our legitimate interest.
• To allow communication between you and other parties via our platform. This processing is necessary for the operation of our services.
• To allow you to communicate with our customer services department. This processing is necessary for the operation of our services.
• To train and enhance our customer services team. This forms part of our legitimate interest as it allows us to improve customer experience across our services.
• To ensure compliance with any applicable law or court order. This is a legal obligation
• To tell you about changes to our services. This processing is necessary for the operation of our services and our contractual obligation to you as a user.
• To verify the information you give us in your identity documents and drivers licenses. This processing is necessary for the operation of our services.
• To administer our platform and websites, including troubleshooting, testing and analysis. This is based on our legitimate interest in improving our services.
• To measure and analyse the effectiveness of the advertising and marketing we serve to you. This is based on our legitimate interest in improving our marketing. Where required by law, you will have the option to opt out of any non-necessary data processing.
We share data with the following groups:
When you create a profile or make a booking, we share this information with the relevant members of our community to facilitate your use of our introduction service.
We may share your information between other groups in the LiftSplit family for the purposes outlined in this policy.
We work with a carefully selected group of third parties who may receive some of your data. These include social media platforms, subcontractors such as the teams who handle our payments, advertisers on our platform and those who’s platforms we advertise on.
We will only share your data with the above third parties under the following circumstances:
• To facilitate our services to you, such as in the case of payment processing or completing a booking.
• To allow our rating system to function. Your name and profile picture will be visible to other users on our platform.
• Analytics and search engine providers for the purposes of understanding your use of our services and improving our offerings.
• At your request- i.e when you use social media accounts to login or otherwise interact with us.
• We may use parts of your content such as trips you are advertising on partner websites. This may be distributed via API or widgets.
• If required to by law.
• If we believe that it is necessary to respond to claims against LiftSplit or defend our property, rights and the personal safety of LiftSplit and our employees.
• If we sell or buy any business assets we may disclose data to the seller or buyer.
• If we are purchased by a third party, all data which we hold will be part of said purchase agreement.
We may, where allowed by law and with your consent, combine the information that we hold about you with information from our partners. We may use this information in the manners set out in this policy. We do not control the collection of data by our business partners through their own platforms. For information on how they collect, store and process your information, we would direct you to their relevant privacy policies.
We may read and analyse any message which you send via our platform. We do this for the purposes of combating fraud, service improvement, customer support and the enforcement of our T&Cs. For example, we may scan messages to ensure that service users are not attempting to circumnavigate our booking systems by sharing contact details before a booking is made. Where necessary, messages will be deleted. We never use the content of your messages for advertising purposes.
We may, where allowed by law and with your consent, use information which you supply to us to serve you with targeted marketing, such as newsletters, targeted advertising on social media and other materials we think may be of interest to you. You can withdraw your consent at any time through your profile or by contacting us.
Where possible, we store data in the EU and EU data regulation compliant 3rd countries (such as the UK). Where this is not possible, we take every precaution to ensure that your data is treated with the respect it deserves and meet or exceed the legal requirements in that jurisdiction.
You have certain legal and moral rights over the collection and use of your data. They are as set out below:
You are entitled to request and receive a copy of all the personal information we hold on you. This right includes the requirement for us to supply it in a structured, easily accessible format. You can request this by getting in touch.
You have the right to request the deletion or correction of any personal data which we hold on you (with the exception of financial records which we are legally obligated to keep for a set period). To exercise this right, get in touch with us.
You may object to the processing of your information for the purposes of direct marketing. To do so, please get in touch.
You have the right to object to the processing of your data under certain circumstances. These are:
• You contest the accuracy of the data held
• You have exercised your right to object and we are processing your claim
• We have acted unlawfully in relation to your data
• We no longer need your data for the purposes set out in this policy but you require it for a legal defence.
You have the right to raise a complaint about our handling of your data with the relevant national data protection authority.
Our website and platform may, from time to time, contain links to external sources. In these cases, those sources are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their collection, storage or usage of data.
From time to time it may be necessary to update this policy. In this event, we shall notify you and seek your consent. Please check back regularly to ensure that your understanding of our privacy practices is fully up to date
These terms and conditions (T&Cs) govern the terms of use for the LiftSplit platform. Please read them before using the platform. LiftSplit provides a platform which introduces drivers and those seeking to travel to the same destination. Use of this platform does not constitute.LiftSplit becoming a party to any contract, agreement or contractual relationship entered into by the parties who use this platform.By logging in to this service, be that by clicking “login with Facebook”, “Login with Email” or by any other method, signifies agreement to be bound by the terms as set out in this document and as confirmation that you have read and understood them.If you use your account to log into the platform in a country governed by a separate agreement then that agreement will take precedence for the duration of your use. This may also mean that the data associated with your account may need to be transferred to the `legal entity who operate the platform in that territory.
The LiftSplit platform allows members to post and respond to adverts, view said adverts and interact with each other for the purposes of making a booking for a lift. While you may view adverts without creating an account, you cannot make a booking or advertise a lift without first registering.The platform provided by LiftSplit may only be used by individuals aged 18 or over. Account creation by anyone under this age is strictly prohibited. By accessing the platform or creating account you confirm that you are over 18 years of age.
To create an account, we offer the following options:
• Complete all mandatory fields in the Register With Email form
• Use your Facebook Account to login. If you do so you understand that LiftSplit will retain for their legitimate use associated account data, which may be published on the platform. You may delete any link between your Facebook account and Lifitch at any time through your Facebook account. If you want to know more about how Facebook collect and share your data, please consult their privacy policy.
• Use your Google account. If you do so you understand that LiftSplit will retain associated account data for their legitimate use and said data will be published on the platform. You can delete any link between LiftSplit and your Google account through the controls in your Google account’s dashboard. If you want to know more about how Google collect and share your data, please consult their privacy policy.
If you choose to register by email, you commit to keeping the password you choose secret and not communicate it to anyone, including employees of LiftSplit. If you think your password has been compromised, you undertake to inform LiftSplit immediately. You are solely responsible for the use of your account by third parties unless you have notified LiftSplit of the loss of, fraudulent use of by a third party, or disclosure of your password. You commit to give accurate and true information, regardless of which method you use to create an account, and to keep said information updated of any changes, either through your account or by contacting LiftSplit, for the duration of your use of the platform. You may only create one account on the LiftSplit platform. To register and use the LiftSplit platform, you must first read and accept these T&Cs and the privacy policy.
To help with improving transparency, trust and to aid in the detection and prevention of fraud, LiftSplit will make efforts to verify all information, including but not limited to your phone number and identity documents. You accept that a reference to “verified” (or similar terms) on the platform means only that the information given to us has passed the verification processes which we implement. LiftSplit cannot guarantee the reliability, honesty or validity of the information provided by any user of the platform.
LiftSplit reserves the right to suspend any account which makes use of chauffeur-driven or other business vehicles to generate a profit from advertising on the platform. As a Driver, you agree to not request a Cost per Seat higher than the costs you actually incur during the execution of the journey as advertised. You are solely responsible for calculating the relevant costs per seat and for checking that these costs do not exceed the costs you actually incur (including your own share). You agree that the price you advertise will take into account your own share of the costs of the journey. You agree that any sum paid to you may not generate a profit and that as Driver you must incur an equal share of the cost of said journey. You agree to provide on request a copy of your car registration and any other documentation which shows you have the right to use this vehicle on the platform and are not drawing any profit from its use. You agree that all use of the LiftSplit platform and related services will be for the sole purpose of initiating contact between those looking to carpool and shall be a non-business and non-commercial arrangement.
A member who meets the conditions laid out below may create and post an advert relating to a journey they intend to make which covers the journey, dates, times, number of available seats and the cost per seat. When creating an advert, you may include any planned stops or locations on route which you are willing to stop at to drop off or pick up riders. The sections of journey between these stops are referred to as “stages”.
You may only post an advert as a driver on the LiftSplit platform if you meet the following criteria. You agree that you will:
• hold a valid driving license• either own or have the express permission of the owner to use the vehicle which you plan to use for the journey.
• Be authorised to use the vehicle for the purposes of carpooling. • You are and will remain the main driver of the vehicle.• Will not offer more seats than are available.
• Do not intend to post a second or subsequent advert for the same lift on the platform
• Will act as a consumer and not as a professional. Furthermore, you agree to the following terms:
• The vehicle has valid third party insurance and all applicable insurance policies are valid.
• You are not medically incapable of or restricted from driving for any reason.
• The vehicle you intend to use is a car with 4 wheels and no more than 7 seats.
• Vehicles which do not require a license are prohibited from being advertised on the LiftSplit platform.
• All seats offered must have a seatbelt, even if the vehicle is not legally required to have them installed.
• The vehicle is in good working order and complies with any and all legal requirements for use on public roads.
Any advert which you create will be posted on the LiftSplit platform and be visible to members of said platform and visitors to the platform who may not be members. LiftSplit reserves the right to delete any advert that does not conform to these T&Cs or which it may consider damaging to its image, reputation or members at its own discretion. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and content of any advert which you place on the LiftSplit platform. Consequently, you undertake to fulfil the journey as advertised and represent and warrant that all information in relation to said journey is accurate. We hereby inform you that in the event that you misrepresent yourself as a consumer when in fact you are acting as a professional you will be exposed to sanctions by provided by the applicable laws.
LiftSplit provides those seeking a carpool arrangement for a journey a system to find suitable travel arrangements and to book a seat for lifts offered on the platform. We do this by offering users a search engine which may be filtered by various criteria (place of origin, date, destination etc.). Additional functionalities are provided when a user is logged into their account. We invite the user to carefully consider which of the advertised lifts is the most suitable for their needs, using all the tools provided by the search engine.
When a Rider wishes to make a booking, they may respond to an advert and request the booking online through the LiftSplit platform. This request will then be either (i) accepted by the driver, either manually through use of the “accept” button in app, or automatically via settings or (ii) declined by the driver.At the time of a booking being accepted, the rider makes the agreed payment and service fee as advertised. After payment is received, a confirmation of the booking will be issued.
. If the Driver has agreed to share their phone number with Riders, this will be given at the time of the booking confirmation being sent out. At this point, the members (both Rider and Driver) are both solely responsible for the execution of the Lift agreement and all contractual obligations binding you to each other.
Drivers who opt to manually accept booking requests are required to respond to responses to their adverts in the timeframe set by the Rider, otherwise the request will automatically time out and be cancelled and the Rider will be refunded any sum paid.
It is a breach of these T&Cs to create an advert advertising a Lift for a driver other than yourself. However, LiftSplit allows the use of the platform to book seats on behalf on a third party. In this case, you undertake to communicate the name, age and phone number of the person for whom you are making the booking. It is strictly forbidden to make a booking for anyone under the age of 13 to travel alone. In the case of making a booking for a minor over the age of 13 who will be traveling alone, you undertake to request the prior consent of the Driver and provide them with the signed permission of the minor’s legal guardians. Any use of the services provided by LiftSplit in the capacity of a Rider or Driver relates to a specific name. Both Driver and Rider must correspond to the identity as presented to LiftSplit and used on the platform when placing or responding to an advert. Additionally, the LiftSplit platform is intended to be used for the booking of seats for individual people. It is forbidden to book a seat for an animal traveling alone or baggage and material objects.
LiftSplit encourages Riders and Drivers to leave reviews about those who they have shared trips with. However, Riders may only review Drivers and Drivers may only review Riders and they must have shared a lift before the review can be posted. Any review which you leave will be publicly visible via the member in question’s profile. These will become visible after the shorter of the following periods: (i) 14 days have past or (ii) both parties have left reviews of each other. If you feel a review is unfair or you wish to thank a member for their review, you have the option to respond. Both the review and your response will be visible in the same place. Any and all reviews posted on the LiftSplit platform are subject to moderation. LiftSplit reserves the right to delete or refuse to publish any review or response that it deems to be in breach of these T&Cs. LiftSplit reserves the right to suspend or delete or limit any account which falls below a review rating of 3.
LiftSplit does not offer any guarantee in the case of a cancellation for any reason. The cancellation of a booked seat on any Lift is subject to the following stipulations:

(iii) Cancellations after the agreed departure time or if the Rider has not arrived at the agreed departure point within 5 minutes of the agreed departure time, the Rider is refunded the payment, excluding the service charge.
Registration and access to the LiftSplit platform is free of charge. However, bookings are charged under the following T&Cs:
In the event of a lift, the cost per seat is determined by the Driver as is their sole responsibility. It is strictly prohibited for a Driver to profit from use of our platform, consequently, you agree to limit the cost per seat paid by your passengers (the Riders) to a contribution towards the actual costs which you incur in the pursuit of completing the advertised journey. If you do not conform to this condition, you alone bear the risks of any transaction carried out via the LiftSplit platform. When you place an advert, LiftSplit will suggest a reasonable contribution per seat which takes into consideration the nature of the Lift and the distance travelled. This amount is given purely as a guideline and it is the responsibility of the Driver to ensure that it is a fair representation of their costs. To this end, you may edit the cost per seat. To avoid abuse of the system, LiftSplit places certain limits on costs per seat. In exchange for use of the platform to create bookings, LiftSplit shall collect a service fee.You accept that, at its own discretion, LiftSplit may round up or down the amounts of any service fee or cost per seat. The user will be notified of the amount to be paid before any application of the service fee. LiftSplit reserves the right to modify the methods of calculation used in the determination of the service fee at any time. Any future modification will not affect bookings which have already been secured at the time of modification.
Any payments collected on behalf of a Driver by LiftSplit will be deposited into an account specifically dedicated to the payment of Drivers.You accept that no payment collected on behalf of a Driver by LiftSplit shall entitle that driver to any interest payment. You agree to respond with all diligence to any request for information from LiftSplit or any court or administrative authority, notably in the interests of the prevention and combating of money laundering. You agree to provide on request any useful evidence of address or identity. In the absence of any response to these requests, LiftSplit may take any steps it deems necessary, notably freezing any sums due to the Driver or suspension of your account or termination of these Terms and Conditions. By using the platform as a Driver, you confer on LiftSplit a collection mandate for the Cost Per Seat as agreed in a booking. This mandate will be carried out in your name. Consequently, in the case of a booking, LiftSplit will collect the whole of the sum paid by the Rider.
After the Lift has been completed, Riders shall have a period of 15 days to raise a claim on the Lift to LiftSplit. If no such claim is raised, LiftSplit will consider the Lift to have been successfully completed. From the time of this express or tacit conformation of a successful Lift, you as driver will have a payable credit on your account. This credit will conform to the total sum paid by the Rider at the time of the Booking Confirmation, minus the service fee. This credit will be the total as advertised in the Lift posting. Drivers shall have the option of instructing LiftSplit to pay credit into your bank account (through entering your bank details in advance of the instruction). The payment shall be sent within 15 days. If not payment details are entered before this time, any credit will be considered the property of LiftSplit. LiftSplit reserves the right to suspend, limit or remove the T&Cs from any account which, due to the nature, frequency or number of passengers or any other reason which may entails a situation where you may draw profit from use of the platform.
The accuracy of any personal information relating to the Rider is their sole responsibility except in the case of a proven failure of LiftSplit to collect, protect, process or store said information. Payment for the cost per seat as advertised, plus the service fee may be made by one of the methods outlined below. The Rider has the option to save the relevant details of their preferred payment options in the interests of convince for future bookings. Booking confirmations are final and therefore, it is the responsibility of the Rider to ensure that any services booked meet their requirements fully. Booking confirmations are sent on successful completion of payment and shall be delivered to the registered email address of the Rider. No booking confirmation shall be issued prior to the full payment of the cost as advertised. In the event of an incomplete, irregular or un-attributable payment the booking shall be cancelled immediately. Payments must be made via credit or debit card.
You are solely responsible for respecting all laws, regulations and obligations which may be applicable to your use of the LiftSplit platform.
In addition, you agree that while using the LiftSplit Platform and undertaking Lifts as either Rider or Driver you shall not:
• Use the LiftSplit platform for professional uses.
• Mislead either LiftSplit or other platform users
• Send any fraudulent or malicious information via the platform
• Speak or behave in any way or post content that may be considered to be defamatory, injurious, obscene, offensive, aggressive, violent, harassing, discriminatory or which encourages illegal activities or, more generally, runs counter to the purpose of the platform as set out in this document or which may infringe on the rights of LiftSplit or any third party.
• Infringe the rights, image and intellectual property of LiftSplit.
• Open more than a single account on the platform.
• Open an account on behalf of a third party.
• Attempt to bypass the online booking system of the platform in any way.
• Contact any other user of the platform for purposes other than the arrangement of a carpooling journey.
As a Driver using the platform, you further undertake to:
• Ensure that your insurance policy covers ridesharing and that any Riders are covered as Third Parties.
• Ensure that the vehicle being used is in good working order with all legal documentation.
• To produce your driving license, and other relevant certificates for inspection by LiftSplit or any Rider who requests it.
• To be medically fit to drive.
• To behave appropriately, considerately and with all due responsibility during the duration of the Lift
• Respect and adhere to all relevant laws, regulations and codes relating to driving and ownership of a vehicle.
• Not to take more Riders than the number of seats indicated in the advert
• To avoid any risk while driving.
• To not take any substance that may impair your ability to drive safely.
• To only post adverts relating to journeys which you actually plan to undertake.
• To ensure the Lift is as described in the advert, respecting routes and times as advertised.
• In the case of a cross-border Lift, to produce to the Rider and any relevant authority evidence (such as a passport) of your right to cross said border.
• To wait at the agreed meeting point for no less than 5 minutes or until all Riders have arrived.
• Inform Riders of any delay in a prompt manner
• Not to post adverts which relate to vehicles you have no authorisation to use.
• To be contactable by Riders by phone on the number attached to your account.
• Not to generate profit from your use of the LiftSplit platform
• In the case of a delay, inform the driver as promptly as possible.
• Wait for the Driver to arrive at the agreed meeting point for no less than 5 minutes.
• Produce on request by LiftSplit, the Driver or any relevant authority proof of your identity.
• Behave in an appropriate manner during the arranged Lift to avoid hindering the concentration of the Driver and disturbing other Riders.
• Show due respect to the vehicle and ensure that it remains in a state of cleanliness
• Not to carry any substance, animal or goods that could hinder the concentration of the Driver or be contrary to legal obligations.
• In the case of a cross-border Lift, make available to the Driver and relevant authorities evidence of your right to cross said border.
• To ensure you can be contacted by the Driver on the number attached to your account.
In the case of placing a booking for a person other than the account holder, the account holder shall guarantee the upholding of the above articles on that third party’s behalf. In the case of any breech of the above terms, the account holder shall be held responsible.
In order to offer our services, LiftSplit must collect and process certain personally identifiable data from its members. In using the platform or any LiftSplit services, you accept that LiftSplit has a legitimate use for said data as defined under the GDPR and other applicable laws.
LiftSplit grants users a non-exclusive, personal and non-transferable license to use the platform and services they provide in the manner as set out in these T&Cs.Any other usage of the platform or services provided by LiftSplit is strictly prohibited without express prior written consent.Notably, this prohibits the following:
• Reproducing, modifying or otherwise adapting the LiftSplit Platform or services without the express permission of LiftSplit.
• Distributing, copying or otherwise disseminating the platform or services without the express permission of LiftSplit.
• Reverse engineering or decompiling the LiftSplit platform or services without the exceptions of any text in force.
• Extracting or attempting to extract data from the platform (notably via use of data mining robots and other similar technologies).
LiftSplit is the sole holder of all intellectual property rights regarding the service, platform, its contents (text, videos, images, designs, sounds etc.) and to the software and technology which ensures its operation.
In order to allow LiftSplit to distribute your content via their digital networks and in accordance with any communication protocol (such as the internet or mobile networks) and to provide the content of the platform to users, you give permission for LiftSplit, for the whole world and for the duration of your contractual relationship with LiftSplit, to reproduce, distribute, represent, adapt and translate your content under the following conditions: You authorise LiftSplit to reproduce all or part of your content on any digital recording media, known or as yet unknown, in any format and by any process, known or as yet unknown, to the extent necessary to any operation of the platform and provision of our services. You authorise LiftSplit to adapt and translate your content to reproduce these adaptions on any digital media, known or as yet unknown, to provide our services in different language. This includes the right to make modifications to your content, with respect to your moral rights, to allow it to be compatible with publication on the platform. To allow the provision of our introduction services, you grant LiftSplit a non-exclusive license to use the content and data you provide in your use of the platform and services.
The LiftSplit Platform constitutes an online platform which allows for the introduction of those who wish to carpool for a journey. We do this by allowing the publication of adverts which detail these journeys which may be viewed by other members and users of the platform and our services in order to discover the terms of the journey and, where applicable, allow a Rider to book a seat with the Driver who placed the advert. By using the LiftSplit platform or services, you accept these T&Cs and recognise that LiftSplit is not a party to any agreement which a Rider and Driver may enter into with a view to sharing a journey. LiftSplit has no control over the behaviour of its members or users of its platform and services. It does not own, manage, supply or otherwise make use of the vehicles represented in the adverts posted on its platform and does not in any way offer the Lifts advertised. You accept that LiftSplit does not and cannot control the validity, legality or honesty of any the adverts, seats and Lifts offered by members on the platform. In our capacity as a carpooling intermediary, LiftSplit does not offer any transport services and does not act as a carrier. In the context of Lifts, both Driver and Rider act in their own capacity and under their own sole responsibility. As an intermediary, LiftSplit cannot be held responsible for; erroneous information communicated by service users, cancelations or modifications to agreed Lifts or the behaviour of any platform or service user.
In the case of a breach of these T&Cs or if LiftSplit has a genuine reason to believe it is necessary to protect their interests, security and integrity, for the detection and prevention of fraud or to aid in investigations by either LiftSplit or the relevant authorities, LiftSplit reserves the right to:
• Terminate the T&Cs binding you with LiftSplit immediately and without notice.
• Prevent the posting or remove any postings (reviews, adverts, messages etc) or content posted by you on the LiftSplit platform.
• Limit your access or use of the platform in any way.
• Temporarily or permanently suspend your account. When necessary, you shall be informed of any such measures and given the opportunity to appeal the decision. The result of this appeal is solely at the discretion of LiftSplit. You, the account holder, may terminate any contractual relationship between yourself and LiftSplit at any time and without reason by deleting your account.
The option to do so is available from your profile in app.
In as far as possible, LiftSplit will endeavour to ensure that the platform and services remain available for use 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. However, from time to time, owing to maintenance needs or other technical issues, it may be necessary to suspend access without notice. LiftSplit reserves the right to suspend, modify or end access to any part of its services at any time at its own discretion and without notice.
These terms are governed by applicable local law in the jurisdictions which LiftSplit operates. Disputes shall be settled according to said local laws.
These T&Cs may be adapted by LiftSplit to meet changing business and regulatory needs or as technology changes. In this event, you will be notified in advance of the date any changes come into force by publication on the platform. These T&Cs and the Privacy Policy outlined on our website and in app represent the entirety of the agreement between you and LiftSplit as it relates to your use of the platform and services. Any other document relating to your use of said platform is to serve as guidelines only.
For the purposes of this document, certain terms are defined as follows:
Account: refers to the account which users must create to make use of the LiftSplit platform and access services.
Advert: a posting created by a user, be that a driver or rider offering or requesting a “lift”
Booking: an agreement between a driver and rider which has been or is pending confirmation.
Lift: the journey as advertised or requested
Cost: the cost per seat, paid via the platform, from the rider to the driver.
Customer: anyone using the platform to book a trip.
Driver: the member offering to transport another member as arranged via the platformMember: a person who has created an account on the LiftSplit platform, whether they are a driver or rider.
Member Content: anything posted on the platform, related websites or any other source, created by members of LiftSplit.
Rider: anyone who uses the platform to book a journey where they shall be the passenger.
Platform: the LiftSplit application and any other method which may be used to create or advertise a booking using the LiftSplit infrastructure.
Seat: the space which has been booked by a rider for a specific journey.
Services: any and all services delivered by LiftSplit.
Service Fee: the fee taken by LiftSplit to provide our services.
T&Cs: this document of terms and conditions.
Website: the LiftSplit website.
